The history of Hungarian Electrotechnical Association (MEE), founded in 1900, is closely connected to the history and development of Hungarian electrical, electrotechnical industry.
The Association was brought into being by about half a hundred of professionals, among who there are some world famous scientists such as Ottó Titusz Bláthy, Miksa Déri, Kálmán Kandó, József Liska, Géza Á. Pattantyús, Károly Zipernowsky, László Verebély, Sándor Straub, who were involved in managing the Association, as well.
For more than a decade now MEE has concentrated on resolving technical and the attaching economic problems. With time, the Association grew into the largest nationwide Organization in the field of electrotechnics.
Membership is classified on a regional and professional basis. Nationally, there are 56 regional and 6 professional bodies, which are the driving force, full of activity.
Today MEE is a national public utility organization, the largest among similar organizations in Hungary with as many as 6000 members and 150 Supporters.
